Hi,

I plan to upgrade my environment from clusterware/ASM 11.1.0.6 to the grid
infrastructure 11.2.0.1 on Solaris sparc 64-bit.
I also plan to move the OCR and voting disks from the raw devices to ASM
diskgroups. But how to do it? At what moment should i do it: during the upgrade
process or after the upgrade? When should i create the diskgroups?

Thank you

Hi,

i got the following answer from another forum (otn):

Hi,

==================================
I also plan to move the OCR and voting disks from the raw devices to ASM
diskgroups. But how to do it?

You couldn't move ocr and voting disk on ASM storage. Its not supported.

If you want to replace the OCR and VOTING DISK mirror then you can achieve this
follow tech note 428681.1 OCR / Vote disk Maintenance Operations:
(ADD/REMOVE/REPLACE/MOVE), including moving from RAW Devices to Block Devices.

At what moment should i do it: during the upgrade process or after the upgrade?
When should i create the diskgroups?

If you want to replace the mirrors i would suggest u to replace before you
proceed with process of upgrade.
